Privacy

No accounts, no forms, no personal data

In-State Check has no login, no newsletter and no contact form. There is nothing here that asks for your name, your email address, or anything about you. The only way to send us anything is to email us deliberately.

The checker runs in your browser

The eligibility checker and the savings calculator download a dataset and compute the answer on your own device. The states you select are never transmitted to a server. If you copy the share link, the two states appear in that URL — but only because you chose to copy it, and only wherever you choose to paste it.

Analytics

Traffic is measured with a self-hosted instance of Umami, running on infrastructure we control. It sets no cookies, collects no IP addresses, and builds no cross-site profile. It records the page visited, the referrer, and coarse device and country information, and it honors a browser's Do Not Track setting. There is no Google Analytics on this site.

Interaction events are recorded in aggregate — that a checker run happened at a given level, or that an official-source link was clicked — with no identifier attached to them.

Advertising

This site may carry third-party advertising. Where it does, the advertising provider may set its own cookies or identifiers under its own policy, which we do not control. We do not share anything about you with advertisers, because we do not have anything about you to share.

Outbound links

Every source link goes to a compact commission, a state agency or an institution, and those sites have their own privacy practices. We do not track what you do after you leave.

Hosting and logs

The site is static files served from a European host. Standard server logs exist for operational and security purposes and are not used to build profiles or shared with third parties.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing to access, correct or erase. If you have emailed us, that correspondence exists in our mailbox and you can ask us to delete it: [email protected].
